Who we are
Placement Club (placementclub.in) is operated by Blackbox Infotech (“we”, “us”). This policy describes how we handle personal information when you visit the website, sign in, or use a campus workspace.
For questions, email support@placementclub.in.
Campus records and who is responsible
Colleges that subscribe to Placement Club upload and manage their own student, staff, and placement records. For that campus data, the college is the organisation that decides why the data is processed. We provide the software and infrastructure they use to do so.
If you are a student or staff member, requests to correct academic data, remove an account, or change a roster should go first to your placement office or campus administrator. We will support the college where we are able.
Information we collect
Account and sign-in. Email address, name, and authentication data. You may sign in with a campus email and password or with Google. Google provides us with the email and profile name you approve; we do not receive your Google password.
Campus workspace data (held for the college): profiles, academics used for eligibility, assessments and practice results, coding submissions, placement drives and applications, resumes you generate or upload, and related audit logs.
Assessments and integrity. Timed exam answers, tab-switch and similar integrity events, and — only when the college enables vision proctoring — on-device face detection. Video is not streamed to us. A small still image may be stored when the exam flags a critical vision event, for staff review only, capped per attempt.
Optional student tools. If you save a third-party AI key (for example Gemini) for resume help, it is stored encrypted and used only to call that provider on your behalf. Public LeetCode usernames you add may be fetched to show practice progress.
Technical data. Session cookies, device and browser data needed to keep you signed in, and limited server logs (for security, rate limiting, and reliability).
How we use information
We use this information to run Placement Club: authenticate users, provide campus features the college has enabled, score assessments, support placement operations, secure the service, and communicate about access, invites, and product operations.
Signing in with Google does not enrol you in a campus. Access is granted only when a college that uses Placement Club adds your email to its roster.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data with:
- The college that owns your workspace (administrators, faculty, and placement staff as they configure).
- Infrastructure providers that host the product, including database and authentication (Supabase), application hosting (Vercel), and optional email or error monitoring we configure for operations.
- Google, only if you choose Google sign-in, to complete that sign-in.
- Authorities if required by applicable law.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep your session after you sign in and to complete sign-in (including Google). We do not use advertising cookies on Placement Club.
Retention
Campus records are retained for as long as the college’s subscription and their own policies require. If a college leaves the service, we follow the deletion or export process agreed with that college. Security logs are kept only as long as needed for operations.
Security
Workspaces are isolated by college. Access inside a campus follows roles the college assigns. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we do not store Google passwords. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Your choices
You may sign out at any time. You may ask your campus administrator to update profile fields they control. Where the product lets you edit self-service fields, those changes apply in your workspace. For a copy, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold as operator, email support@placementclub.in. We may need to involve your college when the data belongs to their roster.
Children
Placement Club is built for higher-education campuses and authorised staff. It is not directed at children under 18. Colleges are responsible for only enrolling eligible students.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you should review the new text.
